Richmond based Blu Family Office Ltd (Blu) has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Nick Rees, who starts as Chief Executive Officer today.
Nick joins Blu after spending 14 years at alternative asset manager Absolute Return Partners (ARP), where for the last 3 years he was Managing Partner. During his time at ARP, the business grew from being a niche alternatives advisor to becoming a trusted institutional advisor with a best-in-class independent fund research process. Prior to joining ARP in 2004, Nick worked at investment bank Goldman Sachs for more than 4 years.
Commenting on his appointment, Christian Armbruester, Blu Founder and Principal, noted: “Nick and I have worked very closely together for more than three years and I am very excited to be adding his pedigree and expertise to the team. He brings with him a wealth of management experience and investment knowledge, particularly in the private lending markets, which will strengthen and broaden our capabilities. Foremost, Nick will be running and developing the business, which will allow the other principals to focus on investments and family advisory."
